On 13 February, the board elections of the Bund der Selbständigen Baden-Württemberg (BDS – Federation of the Self-Employed) took place. And for the first time in around 170 years, the members elected a dual presidency. This means that, with immediate effect, two presidents now lead the Baden-Württemberg state association – Bettina Schmauder and Jan Dietz. The election was held digitally for the first time.
Bettina Schmauder, the former BDS Vice President, and Jan Dietz, the former BDS state board member for the Stuttgart administrative district and district chairman of Esslingen, achieved 98 percent approval in the election. The majority of members thus expressed their confidence in the dual presidency.
