Under the motto „Funding – applying correctly – strengthening success!“, an information event organised by BDS Kirchheim on the topic of funding took place on Thursday, 17 March 2016 at the Stadthalle in Kirchheim unter Teck. The event was aimed at interested parties from the trades, industry and services alike, to learn about funding opportunities in various business phases such as start-up, growth or succession.
After the welcome by the deputy chairman of BDS Kirchheim, Thomas Oßwald, the more than 100 attendees received an overview of the large number of grants, subsidies, loans and other funding options offered by the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union.
The attendees listened with great interest to the speakers‘ presentations. Mr Hummel of Volksbank Kirchheim-Nürtingen and Mr Neumann of Kreissparkasse Esslingen-Nürtingen introduced the complex topic with current practical examples.
The representative of RKW Baden-Württemberg, Michael Ulmer, then provided an overview of current funding programmes. Martin Eggert of Bürgschaftsbank Baden-Württemberg subsequently reported on options for obtaining state guarantees despite insufficient collateral and, where appropriate, strengthening a company’s equity base through equity-substituting mezzanine capital. Michael Kuschmann of the district chamber of the IHK Esslingen-Nürtingen concluded by presenting the services the IHK provides in the area of business start-ups and company succession.
The economic development officer of the town of Kirchheim unter Teck, Saskia Klinger, made clear in her closing remarks how important a well-functioning economy is for the town of Kirchheim. Following the presentations, all participants had the opportunity to exchange views personally with the speakers over a small buffet. The initiators of the event, the management consultants Jan Dietz and Ahmet Papila, were very satisfied with the high level of interest in the topic and the positive feedback from participants.
